FIXTURES

As well as playing in a variety of civilian tournaments throughout the season, a full military fixture list is maintained. Inter Service rivalry remains fierce, with annual clashes against both the Army and the Royal Air Force. The historic Rundle Cup is played for annually in July against the Army in front of a partisan 5,000 strong crowd and the Navy holds its own remarkably well against its much larger sister Service, with honours being about even over recent years.

The Duke of York Cup is the prize in the annual tussle with the RAF in June and the Navy have dominated this for the majority of the last two decades. Amongst other highlights in recent years have been winning the prestigious Inter Regimental Tournament and the historic Captains & Subalterns Trophy.

Perhaps the high point though was taking the first ever Royal Navy polo team to tour Argentina, the Mecca of worldwide polo, in 2004 and convincingly beating the Argentine Navy on their own soil!
